The Member of Parliament for Wa Central, Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo has commended Alhaji Hudu Mogtari for the latter’s show of commitment to the Victory of John Drama Mahama and all eleven parliamentary candidates in the Upper West region.
According to Dr Pelpuo, his former contender, Alhaji Hudu has demonstrated maturity in diverse ways including resourcing the party in the region, calls for unity as well as his public declaration of support for Dr Pelpuo and the ten other parliamentary candidates of the National Democratic Congress.
In a statement attributed to the four-time legislator of Wa Central, Dr Rashid Pelpuo on his social media handle, he indicated that “ A brilliant speech by Hudu Mogtari at a party he organised for Wa Central Youth”
The statement further reads “Essentially he advocated for a win for the president and Member of Parliament for Wa Central. He staunchly supports the 11 over 11 for the Upper West Region”
Alhaji Hudu Mogtari was the leading contender in the 2023 NDC parliamentary primaries of the Wa Central constituency. He lost narrowly to the incumbent member of parliament, Dr Rashid Pelpuo.
Subsequently, there were remorse of friction between factions of Dr Pelpuo and Alhaji Hudu. There were also pronouncements alleging that Alhaji Hudu and his team do not support the candidature of Dr Pelpuo ahead of this year’s parliamentary and presidential elections.
A public declaration of support by Alhaji Hudu Mogtari has demystified initial assertions by a section of the NDC within Wa Central.
Dr. Rashid Pelpuo will be faced with a cut-throat competition from Hajia Humu, the NPP parliamentary candidate.
