Upper West Regional State Attorney, Saeed Abdul Shakur Esq, has disclosed that the entire land of Tendamba Primary School which the Wa Municipal Assembly now considers demolishing for alternative use was sold to private developers under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
In a categorical statement posted on his personal Facebook page today, Friday, January 23, Shakur wrote: “For the records the whole Tendamba primary was sold to private people by the previous government, it took the advocacy of my good self, Wa Naa and a few Tendamba to reverse it.” The post read.
Strategically located along Tendamba Crescent Road leading to the central business district of Wa, the Upper West regional capital, Tendamba Primary School has long been a community landmark.

About two years ago, a statement from the Waala Traditional Council, issued under the authority of Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV, warned against any sale or encroachment on the school land. This came amid visible attempts by private individuals to begin construction works on the site.
Shakur’s post arrives amid a raging public debate sparked by a Yiri News report on the potential demolition of the school and its conversion into a 24-hour economy market.
