Kuuyelleh Reuben, the immediate past Local SRC/GNMTA President of St. Joseph Community Health Nursing Training College, has been elected as the President of the Northern Zone Ghana Nurses and Midwives Trainees’ Association (GNMTA).

Reuben, who also served as the Communications Director of TESCON at the institution, brings a wealth of experience in student leadership and advocacy. His tenure as the Local SRC/GNMTA President during the 2024/2025 academic year was marked by a strong commitment to student welfare, academic excellence, and professional development initiatives.

In his victory speech, Reuben expressed gratitude to his fellow trainees for their confidence in his leadership. He pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to address pressing concerns, such as improved training conditions, enhanced internship opportunities, and policy advocacy for nursing and midwifery students.

“I am deeply honored by this mandate and remain committed to championing the interests of all trainees in the Northern Zone. Together, we will push for better opportunities that will shape our future careers,” he stated.

His election has been met with optimism among students and colleagues who believe his leadership will bring meaningful change. With his proven track record at the local level, many expect him to strengthen the association’s influence in national discussions on nursing and midwifery training.

As he assumes office, Reuben’s leadership will be instrumental in uniting trainees across the Northern Zone and ensuring their voices are heard in key policy decisions affecting their profession.
