The four gates of the Wa Tendamba publicly given their consent to the demolition of the Tendamba Primary School to pave the way for the construction of the proposed 24-hour Economy Market in Wa.
According to the traditional leaders, their decision follows extensive consultations within the Tendamba community and the Wa Naa as well as consideration of the long-term economic benefits the market project is expected to bring to the area.
They noted that the initiative, if executed properly, will boost local commerce, create jobs, and enhance economic activities within the municipality, aligning with government’s broader vision of promoting a 24-hour economy.
The gates, however, called on the public to disregard earlier claims be a section of the temdamba rejecting the proposed use of the land for the market.
The plan to relocate the school has received public backlash with both president Mahama and local government minister rejecting the approach.
