The celebrated Kandomwine Bawaa Group, widely regarded as one of the finest traditional dance ensembles in the Upper West Region, has received a significant uplift following a generous donation of traditional musical instruments by Prof. Tony Tampah, a proud son of Kandomwine and a lecturer at the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS).

The donation, described by members of the group as timely and inspiring, is expected to enhance the group’s performances by enriching their already captivating melodies and strengthening the authenticity of their cultural expressions. The newly donated instruments complement the ensemble’s existing set, giving the group renewed energy and a polished sound as they continue to represent their community on various cultural platforms.

Speaking during the presentation, Prof. Tampah expressed deep joy and appreciation for the Kandomwine Bawaa Group’s unwavering commitment to cultural preservation and community cohesion. He commended the group for using the annual Bawaa Festival as a platform to promote peace, unity, and harmonious relations among sister communities within and beyond Kandomwine.

The gesture was warmly received by the community and cultural enthusiasts. The Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Nestor Mwinterebo, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Tampah on behalf of the people, describing the donation as a clear demonstration of love for community development and cultural advancement.
