17-year-old Madihat Dauda, from Kunbiehi, a suburb of Wa, and a student of Lassia Tuolu Senior High School, form two (2) in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region, is appealing to the public for financial assistance to undergo total hip replacement surgery after being diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis of the Right Femoral Head.

According to a medical report from the Upper West Regional Hospital, Madihat has been experiencing severe pain in her right hip for over a year. Medical examinations and radiological investigations confirmed that the femoral head had suffered necrosis due to disrupted blood supply, leading to bone tissue death. Doctors at the hospital have advised that a total hip replacement is the only definitive treatment for her condition.

The surgery, estimated at GHS 70,000, includes the cost of a femoral stem, femoral head, polyethene liner, titanium acetabular cup, and cup screws, as per an invoice from Jobek Skill Surgical, a medical equipment supplier.

Despite her efforts to raise funds, Madihat is still struggling to meet the financial requirements for the procedure. The medical report, signed by Dr. Gordon Putota on behalf of Dr. Philip K.K. Baabineh, Head of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the Upper West Regional Hospital, appeals to individuals, organizations, and philanthropists to support her in any way they can.

Those willing to assist can contribute via Mobile Money (MoMo) number Saaka Mariama 0593612250, her mother.

Madihat remains hopeful that with public support, she can undergo the surgery and regain a pain-free life.
