The Anwelle Foundation has donated 132 pairs of sandals to students of Jirapa Senior High School (Jirapa SHS) after a recent fire destroyed a boys’ dormitory at the school.
Led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Frank Anwelle, the foundation provided one pair of sandals to each of the 132 affected students as immediate relief to help them return to normal school routines.
The donation is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to education and community support during times of need.
At the presentation ceremony, Mr. Anwelle identified one of the beneficiaries, Dabuo Ferdinand, as a fellow native of Tampala. Moved by the student’s circumstances, he pledged to cover Ferdinand’s school fees and upkeep through the remainder of his education.
The intervention was facilitated by Professor Williams Angko, Chairman of the Jirapa SHS Board of Governors. Headmaster Mr. Abdul Mumuni DS Adams attended the ceremony and thanked the Anwelle Foundation for its timely and practical assistance.
School officials say the donation arrives at a critical moment as the affected students work to recover from the dormitory fire and resume academic activities. The foundation’s gift and Mr. Anwelle’s personal commitment underscore its ongoing focus on education, youth welfare and community development.
The Anwelle Foundation said it will continue to support initiatives that improve lives and create opportunities for young people in the region.
Jirapa SHS suffered an unfortunate fire outbreak in one of the school’s dormitories which resulted in the students losing all their properties including their uniforms, sandals and books amongst many others.
