The Anwelle Foundation has pledged to procure a mini bus to support the operations of the Jirapa Traditional Council.
The pledge was made at the maiden meeting of the Jirapa Traditional Council held in Jirapa and presided over by the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area Naa Dinaa Donglabong Ganaa III.
The meeting, which brought together chiefs, elders and heads of institutions in the municipality, was sponsored by the Anwelle Foundation, and its presentation was a major highlight of the day.
Addressing the Council, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Frank Anwelle, outlined some of the life-changing interventions the Foundation has undertaken in the Jirapa Municipality.
According to him, the Foundation has so far supported more than 2,000 residents to register and renew their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards to improve access to healthcare.
Mr. Anwelle said the Foundation also organized free pre-SHS vacation classes for JHS graduates in the municipality to prepare them adequately for senior high school.
To further support their transition, he disclosed that the Foundation procured over 1,900 result-checking vouchers for JHS leavers to enable them check and print their BECE results.
He added that the Foundation has also supported young artisans, including trained weavers, with working tools during their graduation to help them start their own businesses.
These, he said, are just a few of the Foundation’s contributions to development in Jirapa.
Mr. Anwelle announced that as part of its commitment to the traditional authority, the Foundation plans to acquire a mini bus to ease the movement and activities of the Jirapa Traditional Council.
He therefore appealed to the Council for its support and partnership to enable the Foundation to expand its impact and do more for the people of the municipality.
The Traditional Council commended the Foundation for its continued support to the area and for sponsoring its historic first meeting.
