The Community Development Alliance (CDA) and Plan International Ghana have donated assorted food items and essential consumables to the Gyinsung Shelter Home for abused children in Wa, the Upper West regional capital.
The gesture, highlights ongoing efforts to shield vulnerable kids, especially girls from abuse and child marriage.
Ms. Lydia Darlington Fordjour, Coordinator of the PROTECT Project, presented the items alongside CDA’s Executive Director, Mr. Salifu Issifu Kanton.
Speaking on behalf of both organizations, she reaffirmed their dedication: “We’re committed to safeguarding children’s rights and wellbeing, particularly for girls at risk. Collective action is key to strengthening protective services.”

Rev. Sister Ayagiba, the shelter’s caretaker, received the donation with deep appreciation. “We’re profoundly grateful to CDA and Plan International Ghana for this timely support. It ensures our children are well cared for,” she said.
She further revealed that the home currently shelters four girls, aged 13-15, recently rescued from child marriage in the Upper West Region, who are now receiving psychosocial care and protection.

This initiative underscores the power of collaboration in giving abuse survivors a safe path to recovery
