The Anwelle Foundation has donated six mattresses to the Jirapa Municipal Fire Station to improve resting arrangements for firefighters who remain on standby to respond to emergencies.
The donation, part of the foundation’s ongoing support for frontline institutions, is intended to enhance the comfort and welfare of operational personnel. “When the alarm sounds, firefighters answer the call of duty. We must also answer the call to support those who protect us,” the foundation said.
Chief Fire Officer Engr. Watara Fatawu thanked the foundation for the gesture, saying the mattresses will “greatly enhance the comfort and well-being of our operational personnel as they remain ever-ready to serve and protect our communities.”
Information available to Yiri News indicates that several institutions, including the Jirapa Municipal Assembly, were contacted for support prior to the donation but did not provide assistance.
The Fire Service commended the Anwelle Foundation for recognizing the needs of emergency responders and for helping ensure firefighters can rest and recover between shifts.
The foundation reiterated its commitment to backing those who safeguard lives and property in the Jirapa area.
