The Member of Parliament for the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency, Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah, has donated GH¢35,000 towards the completion of a maternity block in the Goli community.
The donation was made on Thursday, October 8, 2026, as part of efforts to support the completion of the facility and improve access to maternal healthcare services for residents of Goli and surrounding communities.
The maternity block, when completed, is expected to provide a more conducive environment for pregnant women and mothers seeking healthcare services within the community. Residents say the facility is particularly important as it could reduce the difficulties expectant mothers face in accessing maternal healthcare.
Presenting the donation, the MP said the intervention was aimed at supporting the community’s efforts to complete the project and ensure that residents benefit from improved healthcare infrastructure.
The donation forms part of the MP’s support for development initiatives within the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency, particularly projects that directly respond to the needs of communities.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Assembly Member expressed appreciation to Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah for the financial support and described the donation as an important contribution towards the completion of the maternity facility.
The Assembly Member, however, appealed for additional support to provide an electricity meter for the community centre, saying the provision of the meter would help facilitate the effective use of the facility.
Community members have welcomed the intervention, expressing hope that the additional support needed to complete the maternity block will be secured to allow the facility to become operational.
The completion of the maternity block is expected to contribute to improved maternal and newborn healthcare in Goli, while also supporting efforts to bring essential health services closer to residents.
