Nancy Alcide Dery, the Upper West Regional Women’s Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially thrown her hat into the ring for re-election. Known across the region as “Madam Nacy Dery” she is her contest is meant to battle a second opportunity to lead the women wing of the NPP.
Nancy Dery’s tenure has witnessed initiatives such as soap-making workshops and other empowerment programs targeting reached rural communities, addressing real challenges while bolstering the NPP’s grassroots base.
“My stewardship has been defined by action, not rhetoric,” she wrote, recounting her work mobilizing women across every constituency, engaging polling station organizers ahead of the 2024 elections, and consulting key opinion leaders to launch programs that deliver tangible results.
Pundits widely agree: Nancy Dery holds the upper hand. Her enormous goodwill and proven track record make her a frontrunner, especially as she prepares for a rematch with her current deputy, Minata Moomen. The duo tied in the last regional elections, requiring internal mechanisms to decide roles, but Nancy Dery’s passion-driven leadership has since solidified her appeal.
In her declaration, Nancy Dery emphasized continuity and strategic readiness: “We need tested hands who know the terrain, understand the party’s internal dynamics, and can deliver results.
I represent continuity with progress, experience with passion, and loyalty with action.” She humbly sought forgiveness for any toes stepped on in service, underscoring her party-first ethos, and rallied supporters: “Let us finish the work we began. Let us fortify our Women’s Wing and position it as a decisive force in the NPP’s comeback strategy.”
As the NPP eyes a regional resurgence, Nancy Dery’s bid signals renewed energy. “The mission is clear, and the agenda remains firm,” she concluded. “Together, we will change the narrative and bring the NPP back to power in 2028.”
