The Member of Parliament for Nandom, Richard Kuuire, has provided hot meals for all candidates sitting for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the municipality.
A total of 850 candidates are writing the examination across the four centres, distributed as follows: Ko SHS (130), Nandom SHS (172), St. Maria JHS (346), and Baseble (202).
The Municipal Chief Executive, Anthony Ziniel, disclosed the MP’s intervention during a monitoring tour of the examination centres. He commended the initiative, noting that it would reduce stress among candidates and allow them to focus fully on their papers.
Hon. Ziniel also encouraged the students to remain calm, disciplined, and confident throughout the examination period.
At the centres, the Municipal Director of Education, Pascaline Ninfaakang, advised candidates to uphold integrity by avoiding any form of examination malpractice, particularly copying.
She further indicated that sanitary pads have been made available at all centres to support female candidates in case of emergencies, ensuring that no student is disadvantaged during the examination.
The intervention has been widely welcomed by candidates and education stakeholders, who believe it will contribute to improved concentration and better performance in the examination.
