The Upper West Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Abdul Nasir Saani, Bunas, has embarked on a three-day working visit to the Sissala East Constituency. The tour forms part of the party’s target of winning all eleven parliamentary seats setting an ambitious aim of recapturing the three seats it lost to the New Patriotic Party in the 2020 elections.

According to Chairman Bunas, pragmatic steps are being taken ” to claim all lost seats including Sissala East, Lambussie and Nandom constituencies. We will make sure we recapture what was taken from us”

The entourage includes the regional Vice Chairman Kwame Mumuni Believers, Sissala East NDC Parliamentary Candidate Mohammed Issah Bataglia, Sissala East Constituency chairman Razak Namoro and other constituency executives.

The engagements which started on September 17, 2024, took the team to the constituency capital Tumu and other communities such as Kong, Sakalu, Jijeng, Sakai, Bugubelle and the Kasena areas.

The move is also aimed at energising the party’s grassroots ahead of the election. The NDC Parliamentary candidate, Mohammed Issah Bataglia, is in a first contest with the incumbent Member of parliament and Deputy Sanitation Minister, Issahaku Amidu Chinnia.

Issahaku Amidu Chinnia won the 2024 parliamentary elections after he served as deputy Upper West regional Minister.
