Hon. Alexis Anzagira, the Assembly Member for Takpo Tuori Electoral Area in the Nadowli/Kaleo District of Upper West Region, has issued a passionate appeal for support to farmers battling the dry season.Anzagira praised the farmers’ dedication in growing vegetables to supply their community, district, and beyond.
In a post on his Meta page, he specifically requested water pumping machines, irrigation pipes, and fence wires to bolster their efforts.
“Dry season farming is a game-changer for poverty alleviation in our community,” Anzagira said. “Vegetables are in high demand and can reverse unemployment trends. Please help us reduce poverty.”
He extended the call to district authorities, the Nadowli/Kaleo MP, NGOs, and individuals to assist the hardworking farmers so that they can expand the sizes of their dry season gardens.
The plea follows the killing of Ghanaian traders in Burkina Faso last weekend, who were importing tomatoes amid local shortages—underscoring the urgent need for domestic production.

Great writeup thanks for carrying our message across the globe
It’s a call in the right direction and it’s a collective idea from my colleague assembly member for Takpo Tuori Electoral Area and we are therefore calling on government and NGOs to come to our aid by giving us water facilities that could be used for that purpose.
