Dr. Cuthbert Baba Kuupiel, former District Chief Executive for Nandom, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, engaged constituents during a social visit to the Nandom Constituency.
The visit, which coincided with his attendance at several social events including funerals, saw Dr. Kuupiel move across different youth bases within the constituency, where he interacted with young people and other community members.
At a youth camp in Gbilsig, he spent time in discussion with members of the camp, engaging them on issues relating to youth involvement, community development, and party cohesion. The interaction brought together a mixed group of participants, including some identified as members of the NDC.
The engagements were largely informal, with Dr. Kuupiel using the opportunity to reconnect with constituents and strengthen grassroots relationships within the area.
Dr. Kuupiel was the first District Chief Executive for Nandom following its creation out of the then Lawra District in 2012.
Within the political history of the constituency, he contested the NDC parliamentary primaries in 2015 and again in 2023 but lost on both occasions to Lawyer Richard Kuuire, who subsequently became the party’s parliamentary candidate for Nandom.
His continued visibility in the constituency, particularly through social and community interactions, remains a notable feature of local political dynamics in Nandom.
Dr. Kuupiel was the 2024 campaign manager for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Richard Kuuire.
