The Nandom Municipal Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has officially welcomed a new director, Fidelis Naa-Ikuur, following a brief handing-over ceremony held at the municipal office premises.
Mr. Naa-Ikuur succeeded Raphael Derbie, who has been reassigned as the Regional Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS). The transition marks a routine administrative change aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and service delivery.
Present at the ceremony was the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Anthony Ziniel, along with staff of NADMO and other stakeholders.
In his remarks, the MCE charged the new director to demonstrate strong leadership, commitment, and responsiveness in managing disaster-related issues within the municipality.
He emphasized the importance of proactive disaster risk reduction strategies, particularly in addressing recurrent challenges such as flooding, bushfires, and emergency preparedness.
Hon. Ziniel further urged Mr. Naa-Ikuur to work collaboratively with local authorities, traditional leaders, and community members to build a resilient and well-informed municipality.
Mr. Naa-Ikuur, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to uphold professionalism and dedication in the discharge of his duties.
The ceremony ended with goodwill messages from staff and a call for continued cooperation to enhance NADMO’s operations in Nandom.
