The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) Constituency, Hon. Dr. Sebastian Sandaare, has been actively engaging his constituents, spearheading development projects and supporting skills training initiatives to boost local empowerment.
Hon. Dr. Sandaare recently graced the passing-out ceremony of 24 tailors and dressmakers trainees in Daffiama, organized by the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association’s Upper West North Region chapter. The chapter covers Daffiama, Ullo, Duong, Sanwie, and Gbare, drawing a large crowd of trainees, master craftsmen, families, and community members to the colorful event.
In his address, the MP praised the trainers for their “courage, patience, and dedication” in nurturing the young apprentices.

He urged the graduates to apply their skills diligently, build their businesses with patience, and mentor future talents. Reiterating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) vision under H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Dr. Sandaare stressed that skills training is key to job creation and self-reliance, declaring, “Handwork is the way to go” to combat youth unemployment and fuel economic growth.
Showing particular compassion, he encouraged the sole disabled apprentice among the 24 graduates to contact the District Assembly, pledging personal intervention to access the Disability Fund for starting their own business.
To bolster the program, Hon. Dr. Sandaare donated GH₵4,200. Out of that, GH₵1,200 is meant for medals and certificates, while GH₵3,000 toward ceremony costs.
He affirmed his office’s commitment to funding similar initiatives under an NDC government, ensuring broad constituent benefits.
This engagement aligns with his recess activities, including initiating and supervising key projects like reshaping the Dafiama-Dakyea road and facilitating critical surgeries for constituents—demonstrating hands-on leadership amid parliamentary downtime.
