Scores of customers of telecommunications giant MTN Ghana have expressed frustration following a prolonged network outage that has left many unable to make phone calls, send messages, or access internet services across parts of the Upper West Region.
The disruption, which reportedly began several hours ago, has affected both individual subscribers and businesses that rely heavily on the network for communication and daily operations.
Several residents who spoke to Yiri News described the situation as inconvenient and damaging to their livelihoods. According to them, the outage has interrupted business transactions, mobile money services, and communication with clients, family members, and colleagues.
“I have been trying to make important calls since morning, but none of them are going through. My business depends on constant communication with customers, and this has seriously affected my work,” one resident lamented.
Others also expressed concerns about their inability to access mobile internet services, which many use for online transactions, education, and information.
The outage has sparked widespread complaints on social media, with affected customers calling on MTN Ghana to provide immediate updates on the situation and restore services as quickly as possible.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of the disruption remains unknown. MTN Ghana has yet to issue an official statement explaining the outage or indicating when normal services are expected to resume.
Customers are hopeful that the telecommunications provider will address the problem promptly to minimize further inconvenience and economic losses.
