Hon. Lawyer Sylvester Isang, an old student of Nandom Senior High School, has donated a 50-inch flat-screen television and a one-year full DSTV subscription to staff of the school.
Presenting the items at the school, Hon. Isang advised students to build strong academic foundations. He said discipline at the secondary level determines future success. “If you don’t pick the fundamentals well here, you may not survive well. This is where you are prepared well so that when you go any other place it becomes so easy to fit in,” he stated.
He urged students from less privileged backgrounds not to be distracted by material needs. “If your parents are not able to afford the things for you today, never be bothered. Close your eyes to material things now. Learn. When you become somebody tomorrow, you replicate,” he added.
The donation is the latest in a series of interventions by Hon. Isang for Nandom SHS. He previously donated a 65-inch television set, footballs, and trophies. He also honored the best WASSCE student and presented a xylophone to the Dagara cultural group.
Beyond the school, Hon. Isang, through the Lawyer Sylvester Isang Foundation, sponsors students pursuing LLB, Medicine, and Engineering. The foundation also supported 22 natives of Nandom with cement, transport, and labor costs to floor their rooms.
The presentation was witnessed by students and school officials under the school pavilion.
