The Member of Parliament for the Nandom Constituency, Lawyer Richard Kuuire, together with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Ziniel, and the Acting NDC Constituency Secretary, Mr. Martin Neekure, on Wednesday toured several ongoing development projects across the municipality to assess progress and quality of work.
The inspection covered multiple communities, with projects at various stages of completion, largely funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
At Bapula, the team inspected a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, which has reached the roofing stage. The facility comes with an attached borehole aimed at improving water access for both the health centre and the community.
At Bataglu and Zimuopare, attention was focused on the construction of Kindergarten (KG) blocks, each accompanied by borehole facilities. While the Bataglu project is progressing steadily, the team also inspected an uncompleted six-unit classroom block at Zimuopare, which has remained stalled since its construction began in 2016—raising concerns about project continuity and resource utilization.
The delegation also visited Tokuu, where another CHPS compound with an attached borehole has reached the plastering stage, signaling steady progress toward completion.
At Monyupele, a Junior High School (JHS) block and a toilet facility currently at roofing level were inspected. During the visit, the officials took time to engage with students of Monyupele JHS, encouraging them to remain focused and committed to their studies as they prepare for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled for early May.
The tour further extended to Goziir Baaperi and Dumangye, where renovation works are ongoing on the Municipal Chief Executive’s bungalow and the Magistrate’s bungalow respectively.
In addition to these infrastructure projects, the team disclosed plans to provide 10 hand pumps across 10 communities and five mechanized boreholes to enhance access to potable water within the constituency.
The inspection exercise forms part of efforts by local authorities and political leadership to ensure effective monitoring, timely delivery, and value for money in public infrastructure projects.
Officials reiterated their commitment to improving access to education, healthcare, water, and accommodation for public servants across the Nandom Municipality.
