The Hudu Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has sponsored the prize package for various categories of the annual Radio Progress Best Brains Contest in the Wa Municipality. In addition, the foundation donated one thousand branded exercise books to winners and other participants. Speaking at a brief handing-over ceremony, a representative of the Hudu Foundation said the gesture was informed by the premium the foundation places on improving education.
He added that the foundation believes investing in education is one of the most effective ways to empower young people and secure a brighter future for the community.
Receiving the items on behalf of Radio Progress and the Wa Municipal Education Directorate, the Municipal Director of Education, Sophia Dimah, expressed profound gratitude to the foundation and its founder, Alhaji Mogtari, for the generosity.
She highlighted the challenges faced in securing sponsorship for previous editions and expressed hope that the tangible rewards would encourage more schools and students to participate and strive for excellence. She added that such partnerships between civil society organizations and the education sector are crucial in motivating learners and improving academic performance across the municipality.
The Best Brains Contest is an initiative of Radio Progress and the Wa Municipal Education Directorate designed to promote academic competition and expose Pre Senior High school pupils to intellectual challenges. At the end of the 2025/2026 contest, which is also the fourth edition, Limaniya Islamic School Complex emerged as the champion. Additionally, Saeed Ruwaat Sikimaara won the award for Best Performing Student, while Kanyiri Nantamba Blessing was recognized as the Best Performing Female Student, and Doarah Abdul-Hakim won the Best Performing Male Student.
