Upper West Regional Minister Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq. held a consultative meeting on Monday, March 9, with former government appointees from the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration. The session reviewed his first year in office and gathered advice to guide his leadership.
Puozuing, who also serves as the Upper West Regional Secretary for the NDC, was joined by key party figures, including Regional Chairman Abdul Nasir Saani (affectionately known as Bunas), Council of State Representative Kwame Mumuni (known as Believers), and the party’s incumbent 1st Vice Regional Chairman.
In a post on his Meta page, Puozuing described the discussions as “frank, thoughtful, honest, and progressive,” adding that they would “shape the forward march of our region.” He emphasized that the talks covered his administration’s progress, the NDC’s welfare in the region, and broader issues affecting residents under the “reset agenda.”
The meeting drew notable attendees, including former District Chief Executives (DCEs) and veteran NDC cadre Ambassador Mahamud Khalid, who previously served as Upper West Regional Minister and Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt. Participants shared insights from their experiences to support Puozuing’s tenure.
The engagement occurs against a backdrop of growing discontent among young NDC supporters in the region. Despite an unprecedented number of political appointments benefiting Upper West since January, many have voiced frustrations over perceived neglect on social media platforms.
The minister earlier this year also met with the press in the region to address them and also answer questions on various nagging issues.
