Richmond Bayuo, widely known as Chichi, has publicly declared his intention to contest the Jirapa Constituency NPP elections as chairman this July.
Bayuo Richmond, popularly called Chichi, is a Laboratory Technician at Babile Polyclinic and a former staff member of Jirapa Hospital. He hails from Tizza and is seeking to lead the opposition NPP in the constituency.
His campaign message, as shared with Yiri News, centers on building “a united Jirapa NPP, organized base (grassroots), accountability and transparency to the people, and winning 2028 together.”
He previously served as Chairman of the NPP Youth and Women Group from 2008, Vice President of the NPP Youth Wing from 2012 to 2014, and Constituency Research and Elections Officer from 2014 to 2022. Beyond party structures, he has chaired the Boyz and GirlZ Movement in Jirapa since 2014 and has led the Jirapa Municipal Youth Association since 2025.
Kuumpaala Augustine is Chichi’s pick for constituency secretary, Saman Duncan Williams for youth organizer, and Latif Zenabu for women’s organizer, among others. The team is expected to help drive his message of renewal, unity, and wider grassroots engagement.
Chichi faces competition from the incumbent constituency chairman, Tieh Kpokpori, and Alhaji Nuhu Abdul-Jalilu. The July elections are expected to be decisive for the future direction of the party in Jirapa, especially as members weigh experience, unity, and electoral strategy.
