Sixty pre-Senior High School (pre-SHS) students in Jirapa will begin their SHS journey better prepared after the Anwelle Foundation stepped in to fully fund extra lessons and career guidance organized by Wulsong.
The tuition for the remedial programme, originally set at GH¢200 per student, has been absorbed by the Foundation, enabling all beneficiaries to attend the classes free of charge. Each student also received six exercise books and a pen to support their learning.
Speaking at the programme’s launch, Mr. Michael Dakorah, on behalf of Wulsong, praised the Foundation’s CEO, Mr. Frank Anwelle, for his vision and commitment to youth development. “Frank Anwelle is a visionary man who has a heart for your future,” Mr. Dakorah told the students, calling the intervention timely and transformative.

Mr. Anwelle urged the pupils to match the Foundation’s investment with hard work and discipline. “Our contribution will only fulfil its purpose when you dedicate yourselves to your studies,” he told the beneficiaries, reminding them that they are key stakeholders in their own education.
Beyond financing tuition, the Anwelle Foundation has built incentives and support measures into the programme to promote discipline and academic excellence. The three best-performing students will receive rewards, and special recognition will be given to the most punctual and the neatest student. The Foundation will also provide weekly hot chocolate meals for the learners throughout the programme.

To broaden students’ horizons, the Foundation pledged to bring experienced professionals to conduct career guidance sessions, exposing pupils to diverse career paths and helping them make informed decisions about their futures. Mr. Anwelle further assured parents and students that each beneficiary will receive additional support from the Foundation as they transition to Senior High School.
This intervention is part of the Anwelle Foundation’s increasing investment in education and youth opportunities in Jirapa.
For the 60 students, the free extra classes are more than an academic boost — they are a chance to dream bigger, prepare thoroughly, and enter Senior High School with confidence and support.
