The Wa Central Constituency Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Abdulai Ibrahim, popularly known as Mba Oly, says the nomination of Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh as running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia suggests an easy victory for NDC in the December polls.
According to him, the current Vice President has demonstrated enough reputation for peddling falsehood and a litany of unfulfilled promises. Mba Oly also described Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh as an arrogant politician who does not measure his utterances to the public.
“Just conduct a careful analysis of the personality of Dr Bawumia and the person he intends to select as running mate, Napo. No reasonable Ghanaian will take them seriously. While Dr Bawumia is known for telling lies, his counterpart, Napo is known for rude pronouncements. Such a pair can never give the NDC a run for its money” Abdulai Ibrahim said.
Speaking on the Newspaper Review segment on Sungmaale FM, Abdulai Ibrahim expressed joy at a Napo Bawumia ticket because it will lessen the work of the NDC to recapture power from the NPP.
He cited purported reckless statements made by Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh while he was at the Education Ministry as well as his recent comments on the demands for a load-shedding timetable as the basis for his conclusions.

There have been reports from the media and some NPP bigwigs suggesting that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has nominated Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate. While some party supporters welcome the decision others have publicly criticised it including a sitting Member of Parliament, Andy Appiah Kubi.
Barring any last-minute changes, The Manhyia South Legislator is expected to be outdoors as 2024 running mate to Dr Bawumia.
