Alhaji Alhassan Adams, popularly known as Chairman Randy, has donated 20 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil and GH¢5,000 to support the Wa Naa and the Waala Kingdom’s celebration of this year’s Dumba Festival.
The donation, handed over on behalf of Chairman Randy by his campaign coordinator, Carlos Chireh, is intended to help the traditional authority provide meals and hospitality to guests expected during the two-day festival.
“The gesture is to contribute to the successful organisation of the festival and to support the traditional authority in providing hospitality to guests,” Mr. Chireh said. He added that Chairman Randy recognises the Dumba Festival’s importance to the cultural identity and heritage of the Waala people.
The annual Dumba Festival is a major cultural event for the Waala Kingdom. It celebrates the reign of the Wa Naa and reaffirms allegiance to the overlord of the Waala Traditional Area. As a predominantly Islamic traditional kingdom, the festival also carries religious significance and is traditionally associated with commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Receiving the donation on behalf of Naa Fusieni Pelpuo IV, Secretary to the Overlord Jinpiehi Naa Kadir expressed gratitude to Chairman Randy for the support and for remembering the Waala Kingdom. He wished the aspirant well in his campaign to become the next NDC Upper West Regional Chairman.
The donation adds to Chairman Randy’s record of backing community, traditional and public initiatives across the Upper West Region, reinforcing his message of continued service and engagement beyond electoral contests.
