The Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and aspiring Upper West Regional Chairman, Sombawiera Samba Sankara, has distributed 1,140 plastic chairs with metal legs to 15 wards across the constituency in fulfilment of a major campaign promise.
The donation honours a commitment he made during his 2022 campaign for the office of NDC Constituency Chairman, when he pledged to provide chairs to strengthen grassroots party structures and improve logistics for ward and branch activities.
The chairs are expected to support ward meetings, branch engagements, delegate conferences and other party programmes across the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency.
The chairs were distributed as follows Charipong 180, Nadowli 150, Kaleo 100, Sankana 90, Takpo 80, Nanvilli 80, Jang 70, Sombo 70, Nator 70 and Goli 50. Other beneficiary communities include Tagasie 50, Kanyini 40, Naro 30, Dapuori 30 and Loho 30
Speaking during the presentation, Chairman Samba Sankara said the distribution reflects his commitment to honouring the promises he made to delegates and strengthening the operational capacity of the party at the grassroots.
He noted that effective grassroots organisation remains the backbone of the NDC and expressed confidence that the chairs would enhance participation and improve the organisation of party activities in the beneficiary wards.
Ward executives and party members who received the chairs described the donation as timely support that would ease the organisation of meetings and other constituency programmes.
