A major medical outreach aimed at addressing various surgical and medical conditions is set to take place at St. Theresa Catholic Hospital Nandom in collaboration with the APRIDEC Foundation.
The outreach, scheduled from April 13 to April 17, 2026, will provide specialized surgical and medical services to residents within the Nandom Municipality and surrounding communities.
According to organizers, screening and booking are currently ongoing at the hospital’s Main Out-Patient Department (OPD) ahead of the outreach exercise.
Patients suffering from conditions such as goitre, hernia, hydrocele, undescended testis, ganglion, and lipoma are encouraged to report early for assessment and preparation for possible surgical intervention.
In addition to surgical cases, the outreach will also cater for patients with various medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes, chronic liver disease, and chronic kidney disease.
Health officials have particularly urged patients with goitre to report early so they can be adequately assessed and prepared for surgery before the outreach begins.
Residents who intend to benefit from the exercise are advised to come along with an active National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) card, although organizers indicated that some incidental charges may apply for optional accessories or consumables during treatment.
The initiative is expected to improve access to specialist medical care for many patients who may otherwise struggle to access such services.
Community members are therefore encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting the hospital’s OPD to register and undergo preliminary screening before the outreach begins.
