The Member of Parliament for the Jirapa constituency Hon Cletus Seidu Dapilah, together with key stakeholders, including the MCE for Jirapa, Hon Peter To-Ang Nangpello Ninfaapigzie, have successfully cut sods for a number of development projects across the Jirapa Municipality as part of efforts to improve education and access to water.
The ceremony, held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, marked the beginning of several key infrastructure projects in selected communities.
Among the projects is the construction of a three-unit classroom block with an office, staff common room, storeroom, a four-seater KVIP toilet, and a two-unit urinal at Hain.
A similar three-unit classroom block with the same facilities will also be constructed at Siiri to enhance teaching and learning conditions in the area.
In addition, a two-unit kindergarten block, including an office, staff common room, storeroom, a four-seater KVIP toilet, and a two-unit urinal, will be constructed at Ganaa Primary School to support early childhood education.
To address water challenges in the municipality, the project also includes the construction of 17 boreholes fitted with Afrodev hand pumps across various communities.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by government and local leadership to improve educational infrastructure and provide safe drinking water for residents.
Residents have expressed optimism that these projects will significantly enhance both learning environments and access to clean water within the municipality.
