Galacticos FC were crowned champions of the Easter Gala 2026 Tournament after defeating Maalu Youth FC 2–0 in a thrilling final described as a battle between experience and youth.
Both teams entered the final unbeaten, but Galacticos’ composure and clinical finishing made the difference. They capped an impressive run, winning all three matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding just three.
Maalu Youth FC recorded two wins and a draw, scoring four goals and conceding three. Despite their resilience, they struggled against Galacticos’ organized defense and experienced squad, including Mohammed “Gargo,” Jalilu, Ibrahim Sunday, Adnan “John Terry,” Kawule, and Sherif.
The two sides had previously met three times, with Maalu winning their last competitive encounter at the 2025 Kakube Gala on penalties.
CEO of the Sangu Delle Foundation, Dr. Sangu Delle, praised both teams and emphasized sports as a tool for youth development and unity.
Galacticos received GHC 2,000, medals, and jerseys, while Maalu earned GHC 1,500.
A volleyball match between Lawra and Nandom also featured, with winners taking GHC 1,000.
