The Member of Parliament for the Nandom Constituency, Richard Kuuire, has donated roofing sheets and cement to fifty-two (52) households affected by a devastating rainstorm that destroyed homes and school structures within the municipality.
The support follows a rainstorm in the first week of May which ripped off the roofs of several houses and school blocks across parts of the municipality, while some homes also collapsed, leaving many residents displaced and struggling to recover.
As part of efforts to support the affected residents, the MP donated quantities of roofing sheets and bags of cement to assist households in rebuilding their homes. The affected communities that benefited from the support included Bu, Puffien and Biregangn, which were among the worst-hit areas.
The relief items were presented to the beneficiary households by the Municipal Chief Executive, Anthony Ziniel, on behalf of the Member of Parliament.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mr. Ziniel indicated that Hon. Richard Kuuire was deeply saddened by the destruction caused by the rainstorm and felt the need to extend support to affected families.
He explained that the MP considered it necessary to assist victims as they work to rebuild their homes and return to normal life after the disaster.
The beneficiary households expressed appreciation to the MP for the timely intervention, describing the support as a significant relief that would help them restore their damaged homes.
Residents in the affected communities continue to recover from the impact of the storm, which caused widespread damage to homes and educational infrastructure across sections of the municipality.
