The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has donated 300 brand-new school uniforms to pupils of the newly relocated Tendamba Model Primary School in Wa through the Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Nurah Issah Danwana.
The presentation took place on Monday June 29, at the school premises and was made by the Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nurah Issah Danwana. The event drew staff from the Wa Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Assembly Members, the Metropolitan Director of Education, Madam Sophia Dimah Nandzo, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
Hon. Danwana said the donation fulfils a pledge he made after an inspection of the school revealed that many pupils were wearing torn uniforms or had none at all. “This gesture responds to what we observed during the visit and aims to support learners so they can attend school with dignity,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to the Speaker for the generous gift and thanked the DCE for Nadowli/Kaleo and the District Director of Education for their support in making the donation possible. Madam Dimah Nandzo represented the education directorate at the ceremony.
“Education remains a top priority for the Assembly,” Hon. Danwana said. “We remain committed to improving teaching and learning conditions for every child in Wa.”
Parents, teachers and pupils welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and encouraging for school attendance and morale.
